Traditional Art Gallery

My journey into the art world began in late 2016 when I set aside photographic practices and poured my energy into creating my own scenes and stories organically, conveyed through the practice of detailed line work progressing into more 3D abstract drawings. This is where I chose to direct my energy, attempting to express energy, concepts, and stories through line, symbols and colour; creating, rather than observe and capture. My drawings have been motivated by Psychedelic Trance music, energy work, past life/soul visions, channeling experiences, spiritual inner journeys, altered states of consciousness, light, esoteric knowledge, and nature. My practice with drawing has progressively evolved into a full time commitment over the years since 2016.

Since my professional education is based in digital design practice rather than Traditional Art, it has been a personal endeavor to create and discover my own drawing techniques and skills through the practice of natural line flow, experimentation, and challenging my own visualization and mental projection skills. I choose to operate in this way rather than seeking literal, professional, or online guidance in order to avoid contamination with conventional styles or techniques in order to keep my works original and energy organic as possible. In my works I often avoid the use of guides such as rulers or measuring tools and draw by eye and hand in order to convey my art with natural freedom and flow. My 3D or visual depth skills have been developed though visualization of light sources and where light, shadow and colour should be; a challenge when it comes to conveying objects which do not exist as guidance in the physical world. My favourite medium is Copic Markers, for their beautiful and vast colour spectrum, waterproof inks, and blending capabilities!
